Restaurant - Elephant & Castle.

Restaurant - Elephant & Castle.
I was again asked to include this Restaurant in my blog (see comments) and I must agree having eaten here a number of occasions that it definitely deserves a place in my Dublin Hotspots blog!!!

"One of my favourite restaurants in Dublin is Elephant and Castle in Temple Bar. They serve the ultimate Chicken Wings and that's all I ever order :)"

This happens to be a great restaurant and very popular with tourists, locals, and Irish People in general!!
It is Famous for its speciality 'Chicken Wings'!!!
And I have to say they are fabulous!!!
You have to visit here at least once if your in Dublin and taste this delicious treat! It's always a treat to visit here and the atmosphere is usually energetic and bustling! It's always busy and at weekends you may have to wait a little depending on the time but it's well worth the wait believe me!

Sample Brunch Menu.
Very reasonable menus so great value, and the staff are always enthusiastic!
This is one Restaurant you must visit at least once and after you do I'm sure you will want to visit again and again!
It's a great casual dining experience and so suits for the beginning of a night out or just for lunch without having to worry about being too formal!

Enjoy!!!

Bar / Restaurant - The Quay's Bar / Restaurant.

The Quay's Bar / Restaurant.
I was asked to add this Bar and I had to agree!
The Quay's Bar & Restaurant in Temple Bar Square, is a very popular spot for tourists and for local Dubliner's and anyone looking for a good spot with live music and which has a bit of busy buzz about it!
Always gets a good crowd and usually packed to the rafters and because of it's central location very popular with Stag & Hen Parties!!

They always have live bands or singers on most nights and during the days at weekends doing traditional and well known or chart music. The Bar always has a good atmosphere and good crowd and is a great place to visit weather on a night out or a nice pint on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon! They also have a great restaurant with a good menu with traditional fayre!

Bar / Restaurant - The GrassHopper Inn.

Bar / Restaurant - The Grasshopper Inn.

The Grasshopper Inn, Clonee, technically Co. Meath, but right on the edge of Dublin 15, and for many years the local for many Dublin people living in the Clonee / surrounding areas, including myself, so I'm including it as a Dublin Hot Spot on the basis it has in fact played such a part in the Local Dublin patron community!
It is situated on the Main Street in Clonee and is quite an extensive Bar / Restaurant.

Owned and run by the Reagn family for over 14yrs, and has friendly staff some of which are there as long as the Reagan's have run it!

Martin Regan.
The staff I have to say are among the best I've ever come across, always friendly, and obliging and in good form! They do in fact make it the pub it is and has been for so long! Martin Regan runs the pub and has been successfully for some time now, and always welcoming! You will often see Maurice and Bríd, in the family run pub mingling with the customers and have always kept a loyal customer base because of the geniality of the offerings.

Restaurant.

The new menu now also offers a fabulous new and very popular Steak on The Stone selection at very reasonable prices!
Weather or not you visit for food you wont be able to resist if you happen to be there while someone orders one of these specialities! The smell alone of one of these enticing culinary delights will just get your taste buds wanting to be satisfied!!!
Highly recommended!!

 New Menu.

Sample Menu.

The Restaurant also offers a wonderful carvery with prices ranging from €6 to €25 and has something for everybody.
Open from Sunday 12pm to 7pm, Monday to Friday 12pm to 3pm and Saturday 12pm to 7pm. The Bar food menu is available from Monday to Friday 3pm to 9pm.
The food is always prepared fresh daily and well presented.

Live Music.

The Grasshopper offers Live music every Saturday night from 10.30pm which is quite popular and has some very talented musicians play in the Bar. There is also live music every Sunday evening from 6-8pm which packs people in and tends to have some of the regular talented customers sing some songs too!

This tends to be an open mike kind of an evening if someone happens to want to get up and sing a song and has proved to unveil some very surprising talented people!
There also tends to be Live music on other Special Occasions and Bank Holiday's and there are many events throughout the year where the Patrons and Owners have participated & Organised some Charity Fundraising events!

Charity Presentation Night! (Photo's courtesy Martin Regan)

Presentation to St. Clair's Ward Beaumount & to Dublin 15 Hospice.

Last Night's Charity Presentations!
This was a great night of Karaoke music and spot prizes etc, all an accumulation of the years Charity Fund Raising events organised by Patrons Martin Donnelly, Ray & Carmel Kenny and supported heavily by the Regan Family.

There were various amounts of events throughout the year where the Regan Family and their staff supported immensly. There is also a Golf society at the pub which is well supported by the locals / regulars and supporters!

All in all this is a great Pub to visit and there is always a good athmosphere and something always going on, and has a friendly staff which make the pub very welcoming & comfortable, with a Restaurant which has exceptional quality and a great variety to suit everyones taste! I'm not biased but have been coming here for a number of years now and am happy to call it my local even though its a distance from where I live, but that just proves why it has that 'Local feel' and is worthy of being included in this Dublin Hotspot Blog! Thank you to the Regan Family and all the Staff for your welcome!
